Recommendation #22 To: Superior Court of California, County of Sacramento

The Sacramento family court should ensure that minorís counsel submit, within 10 days of their appointment, the required declarations about their qualifications, education, training, and experience. Specifically, the family court should continue to ensure the appointment orders direct the minorís counsel to complete and promptly file the declaration.

1-Year Agency Response

The Sacramento Family Court included in its Order Appointing Counsel for a Child the specific requirement to file a declaration of qualifications within 10 days of appointment or before beginning work on a case. (See 2013-406, p. 156)
